velocity pressure coupling

what is velocity pressure coupling? I know that fluent gives u the option of three types: SIMPLE, SIMPLEC and PISO. I dont need to know how they differ from each other but which one is commonly used for the type of flow that is being simulated i.e incompressible viscous flow
