Pipe Boundary Layers

Hi, For a CFX simulation of a duct ive been using the assumption that the walls can assumed to be flat plates, in particular relation to the boundary layer thickness and applying the log-law. Does anyone know if this is correct or are there significant differences between boundary layers on flat plates and boundary layers within ducts?
