How do you perform a transient simulation on an electrical component with AC current as source of heat.

Ok anyway, found out that thermodynamic analysis doesn't work for the transient heat transfer problem as it is not in equilibrium. Also this is a special case of heat transfer problem with time dependent source. So the mathematics is very intricate and simple energy balance may not be applicable.

Still i do not know how rms power gives temperature field similar to transient case. If you have something please share.

RMS isn’t really relevant to your problem unless its average power from AC electrical waveforms.
