CFD used to obtain general formula
Hi,
I have a question about general application of CFD. In case an analytical or "semi-analytical" formula is determined by other ways, CFD can be used to confirm it. I've heard this is often used. How about getting a formula from CFD simulations that would have varying input parameters. Is this applied too? Thank you, Marcin |

I don not understand you ! We use the analytical results to validate the CFD solution

Re: CFD used to obtain general formula
Yes, but how about situation, where you do not have an analytical result. You get CFD solutions and then make a formula for flow (might we call it empirical) Would it be appropriate approach, when analytical solution is not that easy to find.

Re: CFD used to obtain general formula
I think i is appropriate to do that, but the cfd solutions should be validate by experimental data.
