stochastic & CFD

I saw a presentation slide somewhere stating that for highly non-linear solid structural analysis, it has been suggested that deterministic approach is not suitable and a "stochastic" is the RIGHT option. I wonder if the same is true for fluid flows or CFD. Any comment or can someone elaborate on what is meant by non-deterministic approach for CFD?

Re: stochastic & CFD

I think a stoic approach would be best.

Maybe what they're saying is that a transient simulation is appropriate because no stable solution exists.
