Mass flow rate inlet can not get accurate pressure at inlet?

As is known to all that conservative form of equations would be considered generally better than not conservative. But, it is also pointed out in Anderson's elementary CFD textbook that one weakness of conservative form is that the following conservative boundary condition might not produce the accurate value for Pressure, Velocity, Density ,etc.

I met this problem in using a commercial CFD software named CFD-ACE by ESI-group for a steady 2D heat transfer problem without turbulence. I don't know how to deal with it.

I only have the following possible solution.
1) Increase the iteration steps

Is there anyone can tell me other possible solutions?

Thank you guys for reading my letter.

Best,
Shawn

Hi Pan,

Fundamentally mass flow rate at inlet and static pressure at outlet should do the job. It should give you correct value of total pressure to be maintained at inlet to achieve give mass flow rate.

Sorry, I do not have experience on particular software CFD-ACE. So can't comment on that.

Could you please give more details about your CFD problem setup.

Thanks
Vijay

Hi Vijay,

Thank you for your replying. I have asked my supervisor that CFD-ACE has the problem inside and I don't need to care about it. I just need to read the value close to the boundary but not right at the boundary.

Thanks,
Shaowu
