Two dimensional Jet Flow

i need to study bout two dimensional jet flow..Please help me..

I need to simulate it on FLUENT..i need to know the theory behind it.

Re: Two dimensional Jet Flow

A good book can be "Compuational Fluid Dynamics, by T.C. Chung" Sas

Re: Two dimensional Jet Flow

Read the book on Turbulent Jets by Rajarathnam. It should teach you the basics. Fluent has a solved example in the turbulence model tutorial where a 2D (axisymmetric) jet has been modeled using RANS models. Plus there are hundreds of papers (both journal and conference) on jet flow simulation. You can just use google or yahoo to find them.

Thanks ! I referred to a paper from NASA ..the topic and id are as follows : Topic Name :Numerical Simulation of Jet Aerodynamics Using the Three-Dimensional Navier-Stokes Code

Tecnical Paper No : 3596

I shall post the doubts in the next thread..

Thanks ppl for replyin !

Can you tel me where the examples are ?? i saw oly one turbulence model for pipe..I din happen to see any other for jet flow n turbulence model.. Please gimme the link from where i can learn download it.

Thanks in Advance :)

Did u mean " computational fuid Dynamics " by T.J.Chung ???

Re: Two dimensional Jet Flow

Start by reading the exact mathematical solutions to the Laminar axisymmetric and plane jets, then go to the numerical solutions to the 2 & 3D turbulent jets
