free aoustic solver

hi all!

does anybody know a free acoustic solver, that solves the 3d wave equation and where i can download it?

regards miko

I also want to get it,but i cannot find a good one! i know some solver- FWH2d from NASA, and wopwop from NASA, but i could not use them outside the USA. it is a pity! so could someone tell me where i could get a DRP or a high order compact difference (HO C) code and a aeroacoustic solver?

When you talk of an aeroacoustic solver you need to be more specific. In aeroacoustics people use

1. Incompressible CFD + Lighthill/FW-H/Kirchoff 2. Solve directly using high-order methods (FDM,FVM)

The high-order solver market is relatively new. What applications are you working on ?

thank you for your reply ,Harish. I have do many jobs about the LES+FW-H ,and get some results, but i find there is some disadvantages about this method. so now, I Use the direct noise computation(DNC). it mean using the high order methods. I used Ce/SE scheme from NASA,

compact difference scheme from LeLE, and so on. but only two-dimension .the three-dimension code is difficult for me ,so i want to get a free code!

The extension to 3-D would be straightforward assuming you have the grid already generated for you.You might want to look into the website of Dr.Lele.The dissertations of his students are available there. It might give you details of the implementation of the methods in 3D and issues involved.Hope this helps.
