Hi

I am busy with my final year project which investigates the results that different CFD codes produce. I am simulating an airfoil at various angles of attack and Reynolds numbers. I have already performed the simulations in STAR-CD and Fluent.

I am now going to start using EFD.Lab. However before I do, I would like to learn more about this code. How does EFD.Lab solve the boundary layer? I have Googled the topic without sufficient results.

Is there any one out there that can assist me, please?

Regards Christiaan

Hi Christiaan,

as far as I know EFD.lab throws a grid over the whole system. On the cells which are cut by a wall they look in a database after the flow conditions for this partial cell. Seems to work quite well for not too complicated cases. Try to google after FlowWorks it's the same just sold by SolidWorks.

Regards

Dirk

Hello Dirk,

Thank you for the reply. So EFD.lab does not implement a log-law function or any other form to solve the flow?

Regards, Christiaan
