Partial Stirred Reactor (PASR)

I am writing a reacting CFD code for internal combustion engines and I want to incorporate the reaction rates in the species equations. I have read a lot about the Reitz-Kong method for the reaction terms. But the thing I haven't understood is, if it is the same as the PASR method. Are there any differences between these methods?

Thank you in advance
