Hello everyone,
In the Shear Stress Transport (SST) kOmega model, what is meant by "Shear Stress"? is it the Reynolds stress? I am confused by this name. Could you please provide some explanation? Thanks for your help |

Yes it refers to a Reynolds stress. More specifically, the SST model is dealing with the action of the u'v' term

In 2D the Reynolds Stress tensor is 2x2 symmetric and u'v' is probably the interesting term. But in 3D, there are other terms such: u'w' and v'w'. - Is my reasoning correct? - Why u'v' is special compared to other terms v'w' and u'w'? Thanks |
