I am looking for anyone who has experience with structured grid development using Ansys 11.0. I am working to develop a str. grid for a hull form with appendages to use with Fluent.

I am having trouble as the shape is quite complex and it is hard to carry block continuity, however when I make isolated cell splits, this also causes problems when I go to refine the grid.

I am beginning to think that unstr. is the only solution. Appreciate any comments.

You need to tell us about the application, and how complex the appendages are. Given enough time, it is nearly always better to go structured.
