viscous effects in hypersonic flow (at high Re no)

Hi friends, Do any body tell me how the assumption of inviscid flow in case of hypersonic flow (high Reynolds number) holds good? Will it not affect the solution?

It will depend upon Reynolds number, as for all other applications.

If it's some vehicle flying at hypersonic speed, then basically it depends upon altitude - at high altitude you'll get low Reynolds number. The possible effects are shock smearing, bow shock merging with boundary layer into "merged" or "shock" layer and etc.
