Autodesk’s Simulation Emerging Products & Technology team have released a free pre and post processor for FDS, called Project Scorch. I should mention that I’m a Principal Engineer within this team and active in the development of Project Scorch.
It’s available for download at https://beta.autodesk.com/callout/?c...991E1E1EBDA49F, and is available for both Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X. It provides an easy to use Graphical User Interface (GUI) for both pre-processing and post-processing, and is able to import 46 CAD and Geometry Interchange file formats, with best-in-class automated geometry clean up and healing features, that removes the need to manually create FDS input files for geometry representation. We’ve only enabled a small subset of FDS features at this stage, and we’re actively seeking feedback from the FDS community to help direct any future direction for this project. We’d love for you to take Project Scorch for a test drive and let us know what you think. |
