I want to plot mean axial velocity graph against the vertical distance in a backward facing step. In the paper they have normalised the velocity by u/U. I know big U is my inlet velocity, but how can i obtain u.

As nobody answered my question i thought i will answer it myself in case some boday encounters similar problem. You can write statistics for velocity in CFX-Pre and that will average the velocity for you. Easy peasy lemon squizzy!
