Good afternoon all.

I am currently a PHD student working at the University of Leicester int he field of fluid dynamics and have been asked to model the workings of a flotation cell in FLUENT.

I have a rotating impeller inside a stationary tank and diffuser, i have a single body of water at the moment and water coming from the inlet. the outlet is modelled as symmetry since water does not escape outwards. this initial model has been iterated to 1 seconds of rotation, at time steps of 0.01 and 3 seconds at 0.02s, and 10 seconds at 0.1 seconds. the vectors show promising flow and has reached steady state.

i am trying to use both DPM and a mixture model, to allow the inlet to be a flow of air which is dispersed as bubbles within the water which floats to the surface of the tank.

can anybody help me with this scenario, as i do not seem to understand how to set up a purely air inlet and air outlet, within a body of water.

thank you

Neetin Lad.
