Noob looking for help on bullet modeling
I'm designing a novel bullet for long range target shooting and I'd like to do a CFD model of it in flight at the relevant velocities (mach 1.4-2.8). I have a few variants that I'd like to compare the drag profile of so I can minimize the amount of mediocre junk I'll have my machinist crank out. I have effectively no CFD experience and was hoping to get either a recommendation for an easy way to to this or to find a partner in crime to work with. I'm doing this as a project for my own gratification rather than a corporate endeavor, but if the results are interesting I will publish them in VHP and am happy to coauthor.
Thanks in advance, Sandow |
Re: Noob looking for help on bullet modeling
Nothing is new under the sun, your project is a tutorial that comes with cd-adapco Star-ccm product, I guess you can negotiate a two month license with adapco and check all possible geometries by your self, good luck.
