Hi i'd like to have your opinion on typical values for the speed and length scale of eddies in a cumulus cloud, so that I can compute the energy dissipation rate epsilon and the kolmogorov microscale n.
thanks PS : tell me if i'm wrong but to calculate epsilon, we need the turbulent speed (and not the mean flow speed) and the length of the big eddies |

ESTIMATE THE ENERGY DISSIPATION RATE IN A CUNULUS CLOUD a- per unit mass b- for the entire cloud (in kilowatts) c- next, estimate the Kolmogorov microscale
Base your estimates on velocity and length scales typical of cumulus clouds. be sure that you write a section to support your estimates/assumptions based on references or observations.(you may even want to include a seketch or two)for the problem use density =1.25kg/m3 and v=15x10-6 m2/s. |
