Hi,
I will need to simulate a synthetic jet. I am actually interested in the temperature of the plate it will impinge on. Is it possible to simulate a periodically reoccuring unsteady problem in a steady way ( using RANS instead of URANS)? I see some problems, especially as the syn jet alters the boundary layer, but maybe someone knows some literature about this topic? kind regards, hebeldebel |

FMDenaro, thanks for your answer, if I get it correct you mean averaging the temperature in the unsteady simulation over several periods, right?

yes, if you have a DNS solution then you need to do the time-averaging whereas if you solve RANS, the resulting solution is by itself a time-averaged one |
