Prism in ICEM_CFD 11.0.1

Hi Experts,

I am trying to generate a layer of prism in my volume mesh. Since it is a single layer, it should not be a problem. But still my mesher is giving me a warning

"null dir move_v_to_levelset"

&

"internal error move_v_to_levelset"

what are these errors? I initially thought they are related to the geometry, so I regenerated the geometry from surface mesh. Still the problem is not vanishing neither the mesher is coming out. It is continuously working, but not finishing.

Did anybody here face such problem before?

It is quite possible that the prism layer is too thick for some portions of the geometry/mesh. Have you tried a thinner layer? (If you have narrow regions - you typically want the total prism thickness to be less than 1/3 the gap size.)

The prism layer is 0.1 mm thick; and the thickness at any place is not less than 5mm. That is the reason I am wondering. One thing is noted that at some places there is only one layer in the gap. Anyways it is solid, so do not worry of it. (I need one prism layer in solid)

Additionally there are some required multiple edges (T edges)

Thanks for the reply

With T-edges prism may be having difficulty computing the 'marching' direction for the prisms (if you're wanting prisms coming off the intersecting face. You may need to split those nodes first (split internal faces) such that each set has its own surface normal direction.
