Hi,

I am trying to analyse a fully submerged Archimedes Screw through CFD and was wondering if anyone has any tips or ideas on how to do so. Which program would be best (CFX, Flow-3D ect). Any tutorials or information on how to mesh and analyse a rotating turbine would be great. I have already created the CAD code through Solidworks.

I want to be able to create something like these, but with the case surrounding the turbine to be filled with water.

I would greatly appreciate any help at all.

Thanks,
Shaun

I would recommend Star-ccm+. That is what I use and it's very user friendly while also being robust. Although any CFD code worth it's price tag will be able to do some kind of rotating or overset mesh. Star-ccm+ comes with several tutorials that would help you get started as well, including rotating marine propellers and more.
