difference between ideal gas & boussinesq approach

Default difference between ideal gas & boussinesq approach

Dear all, I want to study natural convection in enclosed spaces. In what cases should I use Boussinesq or Ideal gas approach? Which one is more accurate?

Hi,

Natural convection flow are generaly low speed flow and hence we solve such flows with an Incompresible flow approximation. But Imcompresible flow approximation indicates density is not a function of pressure and temperature. But denstiy varation in Natural convection flows depends on temperature and Hence we incoperate this effect in Incompressible flow solvers that density varies with temperature (which is called as boussinesq approximation) by including buyoncy terms in momentum equations in addition with relation between density and temperature.

i think incompressible means we neglect density variation with pressure only. not with temperature
