Arterial pulse pressure
Hi guys,
I want to check how local geometry of arteries affects the pulse pressure (how fast pressure rises) so I am trying to perform some kind of pressure analysis. In my simplified model I have two inlet lids and one outlet lid (as letter Y). Two pulse pressures enter separately through inlet lids and converge. I am using rigid walls conditions, pressure function as a inlet boundary conditions (with one pulse being "released" 5 ms later than the other; experimentally obtained data) and constant flow rate as outlet boundary condition. I have a problem with pulse pressure propagation. Since the rigid walls are assumed should pulse have an infinite speed? I am getting expected data with different lag times... but some people are not convinced. Any thoughts... Thanks |
