Isotropic turbulence

Hello I am doing isotropic turbulence simulation in different shapes. Firstly, i shall be doing it in a duct of equal size, then in a sphere, then in a prism. I am not getting the method to give initial condition for this case. can someone help me?

Re: Isotropic turbulence

Hi

I don't really understand your question, but say for a two equation k-e turbulence model, you need to set two conditions on the boundary: a value for kinetic energy and dissipation or turbulence intensity and length scale. The are generally the same thing and are connected by simple equations. One generally sets turbulence intensity to about 10% and a length scale to 10% of the smallest dimension on the inlet.
