LES: fully developed flow at the inlet of a duct
Hi guys
I wanna impose fully developed flow at the inlet of a duct. I do not have much time so what will be best option to do that. All kind of ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance for your help. cfd novice |

If you look up Frank White's Fluid mechanics you will get solution for fully developed laminar flow in a duct. You can then impose fluctuations on it if you want turbulent flow at inlet.

Hi agg
Thats exactly what I was looking for. How do I impose fluctuations at the inlet? There is no such facility in CFX to do that. Thanks cfd novice |
Re: LES: fully developed flow at the inlet of a du
Is it possible to read in inlet profiles every few time steps in CFX? If so, you could have a set of files that you create with the fluctuations superimposed on the mean laminar profile and have CFX read it.

But that would only give me interior fluctuations, I was trying to obtain fluctuations at the inlet boundary. Thank you for your answer.
