How to do the singular point for 1D Mach eq?

I want to use a single ODE for the Mach number to compute scramjet combustor with varying area, heat addition, mass addition and friction. But the equation is singular at sonic points and in particular at the thermal choke because the denominator of 1D Mach eq. including a factor (M-1). I don't known how to obtain the location of sonic point and how to do the singular point in 1D Mach equation? One said use L'Hospital law to get the position of sonic point. However, it usually has two sonic points in scramjet combustor. I only get one sonic point with L'Hospital law. Can anyone give me some suggestions?
