Hey Guys.

Hope you guys will enlighten me on this.

I have three questions:

Q1. Is it safe for me to conclude that the best meshing scheme for Cylindrical volume is Cooper Meshing scheme?

Q2. I conclude that with respect to the quality of mesh generated through Cooper Meshing scheme. Is this the best method for me to determine the suitability of the meshing scheme with respect to a model besides looking at the result generated by FLUENT?

Q3. I tried T-Grid meshing scheme. It generated acceptable quality of volume meshing. So, which meshing scheme should I use now?

Hello there.

What do you mean by that?

Nutrex:

I think sd means an O-type structured grid topology. In this type of quad grid you have one family of grid lines forming concentric circles around the cylinder and the other family of grid lines are radially directed.

I would agree that this grid type would be best for modeling a cylinder based only upon requirement to accurately represent the geometry.

How much you cluster the concentric grid lines to the cylinder depends on the results you need to compute. Pressure? Heat Transfer?

That's the funny thing about the word "best". It means different things to different people. Best in terms of modeling the geometry? Capturing the physics? Time to generate? What your solver can handle?
