I would like to ask some questions about arXiv.org. I've read its primer n faq but there's somethings which I don't understand.

1.How is it different from submitting to journals, besides giving free access to everyone to view?

2. Is their acceptance criteria similar or different from journals?

3. Would anyone submit 1 copy of his/her paper to a journal n another vopy to arXiv.org? Why

when u write a scientific report (math, computer science ...) and would like to archive it and preserve your credit (consider stolen of idea/work), using arXiv.org is a good choice.

you can submit a copy of your submitted paper there to share your idea prior to publication too.
