Hi,
I'm considering buying the new edition of this classic reference. I've never used it, but it is very famous in the field and the new edition is quite cheap. Would you recommend it? Or are there better new books on CFD for roughly the same price? Best Regards, Sergio |

The older version is a very complete reference, although the material can be somewhat terse. There is also a distinct tilt toward finite element methods, although the material on finite volume and finite difference is fairly thorough. I like my Hirsch, but it is not really a good book for beginners. If you have some experience in the field of CFD then it can be a useful addition to a CFD library.

I have some experience in CFD and since I'm writing a Discontinuous Galerkin NS-RANS code, I'd like some extra background in FE, so I'll get the book.
Best, Sergio |
