Please, IŽd like to renumber the nodes of a finite element mesh to optimizating it, reducing the bandwidth of the resultant stiffness matrix... Do somene know any code to do this?

Thanks!

Most graph partitioning libraries can compute fill-reducing orderings. Look at (Par)Metis, Scotch, Chaco. Of these, Scotch is likely the most actively developed, ParMetis is probably the most scalable and well known.
