Hi

From what I have read it appears the simulations using TVD method have relatively coarsely meshes. From my personal experiences, the finer mesh the more problems i encounter with boundary conditions and 'streaklines'. Why is this so?

you use TVD methods in coarse meshes because you cant see much differences between discretization schemes in fine meshes. as you may know, even FOU works good enough in a fine grid. the main idea to develop TVD is to achieve high resolution in coarse grids.

Thanks Shuo

My personal experience shows that fine grids introduce instabilities and reflections from the 'non-reflecting B.C.'
