I would appreciate any feedback from SAMM (Semi Automatic Meshing Methodology) users as far as how good is it in generating predominantly hexahedral mesh with minimum user interaction.

Thanks in advance.

Just tell us what you want to do with SAMM !

It works very good for some applications and not so good for other ones. It s not a tool with a "solve-my-problem" button.

I would say, with increasing complexity of your problems, you will see your chance to solve your problem with SAMM decreasing to nil!

The first year I had SAMM was a waste. There were just too many un-resolved cells to make it useful. However, over the last two years, Wayne has worked very hard to reduce the amount of semi in the Semi-Automatic-Meshing-Methodology. And it has become my mesher of choice.

If your CAD data is of high quality and your geometry does not change scale very much ( you don't have big things next to very small things - although local refinements should relax this problem) SAMM will work well.

Everyone knows that there is NO magic Mesh button - Right???

I totally agree to Paul. Today, samm can be a very powerful tool for meshing, even for complex geometries. The problem is: one has to know how to use samm effectively.
