Wall detection in DEM/CFD solid-fluid simulation?
I try to couple DEM and CFD to simulate the multiphase flow in an industrial apparatus, whose boundary geometry is very complicated. The wall (boundary) detection is key to DEM simulation and some literature suggest to use the meshes used in CFD simulation to tell if the particles contact with the wall or not. I really don't know how to implement this method since there are a large number of particles and meshes in the system and no literature gave a detailed explanation for that, so could you please give me some suggestions?
