Hello all.
I recently calculated unsteady flows around circular cylinder with low Reynolds number of 100. Checking the velocity fields, the stagnation point is oscillated up and down in time within one grid point at the front of the cylinder.(figure is attached) In a broad view, flow fields show the good results in comparison of other numerical papers. Only small oscillation at stagnation point make me bothering. Does it need more care for fixing this oscillation? It would be appreciated with sharing your knowledges or opinions. |

First, the concept of stagnation point in a viscous flow is quite arbitrary, any point on the cylinder has zero fluid velocity... You should define someway in a different way ...however, the streamlines generated automaticaly by tecplot are subject to numerical oscillations, it would be better to see the velocity profiles |
