Predicting flame stability

How accurate are the latest CFD codes at predicting flame stability on burners (laminar and turbulent diffusion flames)?
Typical example problem: Three concentric tubes (thin walls and therefore small end area for flame attachment). Oxidant / fuel / oxidant. Mixing by shear only (due to different stream velocities). |
