STAR-CCM+ works very nicely with planing hulls.

oh thank you! Is it a panel method software? The main problem is: is it capable to find the dynamic waterline and trim angle? Thanks

Re: software for planning hull

It's a Finite Volume / RANS solver.

The latest version with Dynamic Fluid Body Interaction (DFBI) will do anything from what you say, to modeling a hull accelerating from rest to planing in waves.

If you're interested in panel method software, take a look at PSW, for example: http://www.aerologic.com/

(For noob: No, I'm not working for Aerologic)
