hi,

I want to know the flow pattern in mixing vessel

case 1. upflow mixing that is, input is located in bottom and

output is in top

case 2 downflow mixing : opposite case

if retention time in vessel is so fast ( about 1~2min ) and L/D =2.0 then what type( upflow & downflow ) is effective for well mixing ? is there any data about the flow pattern in both case ?

i hope your answer..

Dear Mr. Lee

I think that it depends on many factor such as the location of mixer(stirrer), inlet shape and so on. What I can say is, in general, gravity can not affect the flow pattern. If you have further question, please call me(02-3661-6411)

Sincerely, Jinwook
