Turbulence mixing length value

Dear all:

I am using flow-3d to model the performance of a pile founded deck (an open quay wall) and a slopping beach below it under the action of regular (linear) waves. Regarding the turbulence modelling, the RNG turbulence model is applied.

The Turbulence mixing length (TLEN) should have an appropriate value in order to limit the dissipation so that the turbulent viscosity does not become excessively large.

Are there any reccomendations regarding the selection of the value of TLEN? Should be equal to 7% of the smallest domain dimension or other length scales should be taken into consideration?

If you need any further explanations please let me know.

I would appreciate very much if you can help me on this issue.

Which version of RNG model does flow-3d use ? The one available in the literature by yakhot et al or their own version.
