One novel fluid mechanics method has been developed for FSI. Please refer to

http://scitation.aip.org/content/aip...1063/1.4939713

or

DOI: 10.1063/1.4939713

You may find the Blasius boundary layer problem is converted to a set of ODEs and an analytical solution is found for flat-plate boundary layer flow.

The classical smooth flat-plate wall skin friction coefficient is calculated by hand on a page of paper and with a pencil.

For FSI problem, this paper shows we don't need to solve for the whole flow field.

The mathematics in this paper were never used in the classical fluid mechanics and CFD.

We are considering implementing the FEB in a cylindrical flow or other complicated configuration.

Any suggestion or comment is welcome. Any cooperation is also welcome.

Default Using FEB method, you can hand calculate flat-plate wall skin friction coeff.
