distinguishes between small and large vortices

hi
How large eddy simulation distinguishes between small and large eddy ? and How is diagnosed in formula؟

This is useful in answering your question.

the distinction is not within the LES formulation but it is implied by the choice of the computational grids that set the cut-off wavelength. All vortical structure below such scales are not solved and must be modelled.

thanks for answer
do you know how set this parameter (cut-off wavelength) in OpenFOAm?
