Hi there, I am looking for a small GIF-Animator running under NT4.0 or Win 95/98. Programmes such as GIF-Construction Set are having to much overhead for my needs. What I need is: Setting up an animated GIF consisting of 2000 GIF-Files. Therefore, the programmes should be as small as possible. Fancy features like cropping, resizing etc. are not required. A must is: Selecting a whole bunch of GIF-Files at once (preferably all 2000) or running the programme in some sort of "batch" mode.
May be the CFD-community knows where to find such a programme? Thank you Detlef |

The shareware tool animation shop could be a possible solution to your problem. A 30-day trial version can be downloaded from http://www.jasc.com
Hope this helps, Tim |

You may find the posting by Jonas on Jan 19 on Generating High quality Movies useful. Good luck.

Hi Detlef,
I use ImageMagick to create all my animations. Large animations can be easily made using a shell script or batchfile (Depending on your persuasion). http://www.wizards.dupont.com/cristy/ImageMagick.html When I display my GIF animations I use the Microsoft GIF animator. It is small with little extra frippery so doesn't eat up too much memory. http://www.servethe.net/free-zone/giffer.html Last year I did quite a bit of looking around for the best way to generate and present animations of my results. I found these two utilities to be the best I could find. Glenn |
