Too high pressure force ?

Hello everybody,

I'm doing a simulation on a very slim body similar to an airfoil. I have problems in getting the drag right. There's no separation at the body. If I split up the drag force into force by shear stress and force by pressure the pressure force is exactly the wrong offset from the experimental value. I have thought, that for a slim body the drag is only due to wall shear stress, so why do I have an additional pressure force. I have used the standard k-eps model.

Thanks for your comments.

Tim

Maybe you could try working on the Euler calculation first, to see if you are getting the expected result. Then work your way back up to the full blown turbulent viscous case.
