Re: Which is it the best?

Hi, everybody,

I am now going to simulate 2-D/3-D unsteady, compressible, turbulent flow by using a commercial CFD softpeckge. To my knowledge, there are the following CFD commercial software:

CFX-4.0, PHINICS, FLUENT, PHYSICA, etc.

would you please tell which is the best for my objective.

--- which is the most easy to be mastered? --- which is the best for generating grids? --- which can creat the most RESULTS(e.g. contour, vecter, and

curve lotting, etc.) from its built-in post-processor? --- which discretised methods(FDM,FVM,or FEM) are used in these software?

Thanks!

Re: Which is it the best?

(1). Define your compressible flow problem completely, including geometry, conditions, and results you are looking for. (2). Visit vendors's web pages for similar sample problems and capabilitites. Talk to the support or sale's engineers for additional information. (3). These commercial codes are there, not because the government said so, but because there are market and users of their codes. (4). I would say the choice is yours. It depends largely on the individual's problem and need. (4). So, feel free to talk to the vendors.

(1). On the bottom of the cfd-online forum page, click on "list of all sponsors". (2). It will bring up all the sponsors name (cfd vendors). (3). Click on the name , and it will bring you to the vendor's website.
