Linear stability analysis
Could you please suggest me some good papers and books on linear stability analysis.
Many thanks! |
Re: Linear stability analysis
One of the oldest, and the most readable, is
C. W. Hirt, "Heuristic Stability Theory for Finite-Difference Equations," J. Comp. Physics, V. 2, p. 339 (1968). |
Re: Linear stability analysis
You can also have a look at the book of Chandrasekhar, "Hydrodynamic and Hydromagnetic Stability" (or something similar, I don't have the book next to me). That's a good book if you already know something on the subject, but if you just start then you might need some help. It has been re printed in Dover Publications (New York). It treats the stability (and develops all the analysis) of rotating (and others) flows, etc...
You can also have a look at the list of book in this forum (the book of Lin; the book of Drazin and Reid). |
