Default K-Epsilon model on uniform mesh

Hi my friends,

In recent days, I am simulating axisymmetric jets impinging on a flat plate. The mesh used is uniform and y+ is of the order 200. When the jet spread out laterally, the maximum velocity in the radial coordenate becomes always constant. I think that the wall function is originating this behavior and not the Navier-Stokes solution. The question is: is the wall function not apropriate in uniform mesh, in this particular problem?

Thanks?

(1). Two solutions: (a). refine the mesh, but keep the Y+ at the first mesh point within the range of 30 to 200. (this depends on the code you use. refine the mesh except the first cell.) Try to get the mesh independent solution. (2). The second approach is (b). use the two-layer model, or a low Reynolds number model. There are many such models on the technical journals. This will eliminate uncertainty associated with the wall function treatment. (3). Read previous messages posted here on wall functions.
