what you can say about ansys/flotran cfd code?

Hi, who know the characteristics of this cfd code? It's a good code for the analisys of rigid wings and foot launched tailless aircrafts?

Please, you can make yourself the source code with any program software such as Fortran 90 or Matlab.

You can use any discretization method, such as Finite difference method, FEM, or finite volume.

These method are good result for simulation cfd system by self code making Thanks

As far as I know, ANSYS/FLOTRAN (5.6) is only able to model closed system. In order to model the rigid wings, you need to define a boundary for the fluid domain. Actually, it serves as one of the modules in ANSYS. The only drawback is that it cannot handle radiation exchange in the enclosure along with the convection solving. (the newest version of ANSYS claims to overcome this problem, but I have not tested it yet.)

I think that the ansys/flotran is not very suitable for solution of fluid program. I had used it to solve a question about radiator. It is very hard to make the model, and the number of grid is very large. For 2-d, it is more than 170,000. For 3-d, it may be more than 2000,000. With the great number of grid, it is very slow for solution even if it is on the machine SGI-Octane.
