SIMPLE

Hello there,

I am writing a CFD algorithm:

finite volume, incompressible, structured multiblock, collocated variable arrangement.

I need to get more information about the SIMPLE, SIMPLEC, SIMPLER algorithm for collocated variable arrangement and non-orthogonal grids.

In the literature I only found some pieces of the puzzle which do not belong together. Does anyone know an article or book with a detailed discribtion of this pressure correction algorithm (collocated + non-orthogonal)?

Thank you, bye

Hi,

Check the book: "Computational Methods for Fluid Dynamics" Ferziger, J.H. and Peric, M. Springer-Verlag 1996.

The theoritical aspect of collocated grid in non-orthogonal, with pressure correction is well explained, and above all, you'll get an acces to several CFD code, written by Peric, and one of them has all the features you want.

Sincerely,

Frederic Felten

Hi Alexander, There is a Report by RISO in Denmark whose title is General Purpose Flow Solver Applied to flow over Hills The author is N.N. Sorensen. He uses collocated grid plus SIMPLE in a 3-D domain. It might be of some help for you. You can get it free from RISO at www.riso.dk. Good work!
