Cavity flow
Does anyone know where (preferably in the Internet) I can find the results of 2D lid-driven cavity flow calculations (spectral, if possible)? I need very accurate results for validation of my higher order finite volume code.
Thank you |
Re: Cavity flow
Hi Sergey,
You may have a look at my results, published in: E. Nobile, Simulation of Time-dependent Flow in Cavities with the Additive Correction Multigrid Method, Part II: Applications, Numerical Heat Transfer, Part B: Fundamentals, Vol. 30}, No.3, pp. 351-370, (1996). Hope it helps |
Re: Cavity flow
hi,
Check the following paper: U. Ghia, K.N. Ghia and C.T. Shin. "High Re Solutions for Incompressible Flow Using the Navier-Stokes Equations and a Multigrid Method." Journal of Comput. Phys., Vol 48, pp 387-411, 1982. This paper, involving a lid-driven square cavity flow, as been refered to in a lot of publications, for validation purposes. I don't think that one can actually get this paper on-line (paper from 1982), but it seems to be a quit popular source for validation. Sincerely, Frederic Felten |
Re: Cavity flow
Me again,
i just found this great publication: O. Botella and R. Peyret "Benchmark spectral results on the lid-driven cavity flow" Computers & Fluids, Vol 27, Issue 4, pp 421-549, 1998. If you encounter problems trying to get a copy, well email me and i will send to you. Sincerely, Frederic Felten. PS: The previous reference i gave you is cited in this article. |
Re: Cavity flow
Dear Sergey
Hi. I solved Full Navier-Stokes equation in a 2-D lid-driven cavity by means of "High-order compact finite difference scheme". I compared my results with Ghia et al. My results is very accurate. I can send you my results for Re=100 or Re=400 by E-mail. Let me know if you are still interested. Best Regards Mohammad Tabesh |
