Short Course: Finite Volume Methods

A short course on

FINITE VOLUME UPWIND AND CENTRED METHODS FOR HYPERBOLIC CONSERVATION LAWS.

WITH APPLICATIONS TO:

I: COMPRESSIBLE GAS DYNAMICS and

II: FREE-SURFACE SHALLOW FLOWS;

shall be held in Barcelona,Spain, Monday 2nd to Friday 6th April 2001.

This short course is intended for scientists and engineers in Industry, Research Laboratories, Consultancy and Academic Organizations who are involved in solving practical problems that are modeled by linear and non-linear systems of hyperbolic conservation laws and their extensions, such as the compressible Navier-Stokes equations. Scientists in managerial or decision-making positions might also find this course on modern numerical techniques and new trends beneficial.
