Motorcycles CFD

Hi CFD users and experts. I am a student of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Pisa (Italy). For getting my degree I need to carry out a research on an Aeronautic or Aerospace topic (it should take around 6 months), and I thought I could study the aerodynamics of motorcycles. I would like to do a numerical work, but I am not sure if common CFD softwares can deal with this kind of shapes. Does anybody know if anyone already tested them on motorcycle-like shapes? Do CFD studies about this problem exist? Thanks so much in advance if you can give me a hint.

Best regards,

Daniele Testi

Re: Motorcycles CFD

I recall seeing the result of some CFD work on the aerodynamics of racing bikes with riders in turns. It was back in grad school (ca. 1992), so I'm sure that any current commercial code could easily handle it now.
